MIX: Tim Xavier at FUSE, Belgium

Following on with the Tim Xavier theme, check out a mix of his from a couple of weeks ago from the legendary FUSE club in Belgium.

Tim Xavier live at FUSE, 06 Jan 08 - right click here

Bigups to Clink Recordings for hosting.

Artist: Tim Xavier

Just a quick heads up on one of my favourite artists at the moment - Berlin based techno boffin Tim Xavier. At least I thought he was based in Berlin, but according to the Clink site he is based in Brooklyn... maybe he accidentally wrote Berlin on his Myspace site after a heavy weekend.

Anyway, check out his new(ish) release on LTD400 - "Soil Between My Fingers". It's the latest release on his Limited 400 label, and it's amazing, all 4 tracks are unreal.

[shameless plug] I've actually featured "Zombie Walk With Me" and "Natural Desire" on my latest mix, a podcast for ECCF. You can grab it here - [/shameless plug]

Given that Tim is almost as well known for his mastering skills as he is for his production and djing, he must hate the fact that many people like myself only buy his releases via digital download, as it turns out he personally stencils a limited number of the Limited 400 releases (I'm guessing maybe 400 of them!) by hand with spray paint. Pretty cool. Stuff like that almost makes me want to buy vinyl again.

Anyway as usual here are some vital links - check his stuff out now:

RA Top 10 DJs of 2007

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a good one. I had a relatively quiet one by my own standards hence this post... usually even seeing the screen on Jan 1st would be a struggle.

Anyway as we enter 2008 it seems like a fitting time to post a link to RA's top 10 DJs of 2007

The list is a pretty comprehensive list of who was on form in 2007 and, even if it's maybe slightly skewed by the popularity of some of the listed djs amongst the RA community due to recent RA podcasts, it certainly beats the ever-worsening DJ Mag poll for a realistic view on what was what in the world of house & techno djs over the past year.
